Brand activation and a social media strategy set a foundation for the future

We developed thoughtful infographics to illustrate BC Rent Bank’s province-wide impact.

Combining iilo’s expertise in both communications and design, we helped BC Rent Bank share its organizational story and impact, increasing its brand recognition at a crucial time of growth.

Communication design challenge

BC Rent Bank (BCRB) provides funding to the provincial rent bank network, and also supports rent bank partners with the technology, resources, and training to reduce new instances of homelessness among renters in British Columbia. iilo first engaged with BCRB in 2022 when we designed both its Impact Report 2021-2022 and 2021 Housing Stability Survey Report in collaboration with Boldt Communications. Subsequently, we have become BCRB’s trusted partner in designing its annual reports and much more.

In 2024, BCRB underwent an exciting brand refresh by Michelle Sourisseau Creative, and we stepped in to help activate the new visual identity by creating new branded assets and setting a foundation for BCRB’s social media marketing.

The rebrand coincided with BCRB’s fifth anniversary, making its Impact Report 2023-2024 the perfect opportunity to roll out the new brand. Since the client had many achievements in just five years, our communications team provided strategic guidance on what details to share and coordinated with our design team to showcase its successes in a powerful, visually engaging way.

Our team of communications and design professionals combined skills to develop an eye-catching impact report that brought BCRB’s new brand to life.

To activate BCRB’s new brand consistently across public channels, we updated branded assets like letterheads, newsletter templates, and social media images. The client was also eager to apply a more strategic approach to reach target audiences through Instagram and LinkedIn, so iilo assembled a team to facilitate that process.

Our flexible team model allowed us to gather experts in social media marketing, copywriting, and graphic design to develop a foundation for BCRB’s social media strategy. We also executed the strategy until the client was able to source in-house support to carry forward independently.

As a full-service communication design agency, we were able to help BC Rent Bank develop and execute a social media strategy from start to finish.

Applying a collaborative approach, we coordinated with the client monthly, wrote original content based on strategic themes, created branded graphics, and uploaded all materials to the client’s social media channels. We made sure to document all processes and created templates so the client would be set up for success in the future.

Outcomes

As BC Rent Bank rebranded and its organizational needs evolved, iilo was able to deliver the expertise to meet new and expanded objectives. From building branded assets and writing reports to creating infographics and launching (even executing) a social media marketing strategy, we were happy to do it all!

The client now has a solid foundation to continue its momentum, knowing that iilo is ready to help with both communications and design needs whenever needed.

Our impact

“Working with the iilo team was fantastic. We didn’t have the in-house support we needed to carry out our new brand integration, develop templates and resources, and develop and carry out a social media strategy. It was great to work with the team at iilo and know that all of these needs could be met by one agency. Many thanks to the iilo team!”
